Did anyone get pranked for April Fools this year? I definitely did, more times than I’d like to admit! I was fooled in so many ways I’m ashamed at myself for being duped so easily this year! The April Fool’s pranks which got the better of me ranged from friends releasing fake book covers, the word puzzle game I play on my phone and even from my own kids (think toilet + Nutella). I can’t believe I fell for that last one. Definitely should’ve seen that one coming!
Anyway….there are definitely no pranks in this newsletter. But there are a few exciting announcements, and of course FREE BOOKS!
First up, on the recommendation of a good writing friend, I entered Mystica Book 3 into an indie author best cover competition, and made the longlist! This was such exciting news and very unexpected. I love incorporating elements from the story into my covers and I love this cover! Have you read Mystica Book 3 yet? Do you think the cover encapsulates the story? The entire Mystica Trilogy covers were designed by MoorBooks Designs.
Secondly, as you may remember, I have contributed a piece to the ‘Ever After?’ charity anthology. This is a collection of fairytale retellings and my piece is called ‘By the Light of the Moon’, based on Swan Lake. Previously the collection was only available as a special edition hardcover, available only in Australia. The final announcement is to let you know that I am participating in the ‘Indie Author Spring Spectacular’ this month.
