Hello lovely readers.
Welcome to everyone, both new and old alike. You have found your way to the newsletter for Danielle Hughes, indie author and lover of fantasy. I write a mixture of things including gothic fairytales, fantasy-adventure and sweet romance. If you choose to stay, you’ll hear from me once or twice a month, with updates on what I’m working on, where I am signing, and of course, access to FREE reads.
This month I’m participating in a promotion for free Myths, Legends and Fairytales. To see what stories are available, click here: https://linktr.ee/fourmoonspublishing
And if you like my free retelling of Swan Lake, ‘By the Light of the Moon’, be sure to check out my newest release: Gossamer ~ an ethereal collection of eight dark fairytales with gothic vibes. Some original, some retold, all magical.

In other news…
Life has been busy, I’ve been working extra shifts in my ‘real’ job, and feeling a little drained after the release of Gossamer. As a result, not much writing is being done. But I hope to get back on track very soon as I have lots of stories in the works.
Back in Feb I attended the amazing Bookfair Australia event and had the most incredible time. Including meeting and chatting with many wonderful people. One of which was aspiring author Rachael, who had half-written a story she thought was going nowhere. After chatting twice throughout the day and listening to my talk on self-publishing, Rachael felt inspired to finish her draft. Not only that, but she has also now published it. Such an amazing achievement! If you would like to check out Rachael’s sci-fi adventure ‘The Creature Within’ click here:
I keeled over as pain ripped through my chest. My fingers dug deep into the earth beneath them, desperately trying to steady myself, as my body shook uncontrollably. I dared to open my eyes and saw my skin bubble and change colour. A painful scream escaped my lips as my bones snapped and reformed under my now dark grey and leathery skin. Tears streamed down my face and I panted through gritted teeth.
The shift was over quickly.
I pulled my hands from the dirt and beheld the long spindly fingers in front of me, razor sharp talons where my nails once were. A low growl sounded from deep within my throat…
The Creature Within…
Sounds so good!
Until next time, love and light,
Danielle x
